Prabowo Affirms Joining Board of Peace to Support Palestinian Peace Before Trump
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto reaffirmed Indonesia's position in supporting the realisation of peace in Palestine through active participation in the Board of Peace (BoP).
The Presidential Media Team in Jakarta, in the early hours of Friday, stated that this step forms part of international diplomatic efforts to promote a sustainable peaceful solution.
"We will realise the dream of peace in Palestine, a sustainable solution for Palestine and in Gaza," the Head of State said in Washington DC, United States, on Thursday (19/2/2026) local time.
Before US President Donald Trump and other delegates at the inaugural BoP meeting, President Prabowo firmly conveyed that Indonesia's decision to participate in the BoP reflects the consistency of Indonesia's active stance in supporting the creation of world peace and achieving the fairest possible solution for the Palestinian people.
On the occasion, President Prabowo Subianto said he had studied the 20 points of President Trump's proposals within the BoP and was confident that peace in Palestine could be realised.
"From day one, we studied President Trump's 20-point plan, we fully agree and we are fully committed to this plan, and that is why we joined the Board of Peace," he said.
Despite the various challenges in realising lasting peace in Palestine, President Prabowo expressed confidence that Palestinian peace could be achieved collectively.
"We are committed to its success. We understand there will be many obstacles, there will be many difficulties, but we are very optimistic," he said.
