Prabowo Affirms Indonesia Will Not Interfere in Other Nations' Internal Affairs
Jakarta — President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed that Indonesia will not interfere in the internal affairs of any country.
“We do not wish to meddle in the internal affairs of any nation. We respect all forces in the world, both large and small. This is the path shown by the founders of our nation. This has also been indicated by almost all religious teachers from all faiths, that we will work very hard to maintain peace,” Prabowo stated.
He made these remarks whilst attending the commemoration of Nuzulul Qur’an 1447 Hijriah, themed “Realising the Qur’an as a Blessing for All Creation” at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Tuesday evening (10 March 2026).
Prabowo conveyed that during his leadership, Indonesia is determined to maintain friendship and good relations with all nations.
As President, Prabowo acknowledged his responsibility to protect all Indonesian territory and all Indonesian citizens.
“All Indonesian citizens, regardless of ethnicity, race, or religion, must be protected, safeguarded, cared for, and nurtured. Therefore, what I recognise as paramount is working very hard to maintain peace,” he added.
“In today’s world, which is full of uncertainty and even danger, where many leaders with great power are not maintaining the peace we need, which all mankind requires,” Prabowo stated on Tuesday evening.
Nevertheless, he called on the public to always remember that those on the right side will surely prevail.
He expressed confidence that Indonesia would achieve all shared aspirations as long as it possessed good intentions, coupled with a clear and firm resolve and commitment.
“God willing, what we aspire to together, we shall achieve together,” he said.
