Prabowo affirms government presence for fishermen across Indonesia
Jakarta (ANTARA) - President Prabowo Subianto has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to providing greater attention to fishermen across Indonesia. In his speech during a visit to the Red White Fishermen’s Village (KNMP) in South Leato, Gorontalo City, on Saturday, Prabowo expressed respect for the fishermen who face significant risks at sea every day to support their families and meet the community’s food needs. “I understand that fishermen face great risks. The sea is no joke. The weather can change, the currents can change. You risk your lives to find food for your families, your community, your nation. I thank you,” said President Prabowo via a statement from the BPM of the Presidential Secretariat in Jakarta on Saturday. President Prabowo emphasised that his administration is determined to improve the welfare and provide due respect to Indonesian fishermen. According to Prabowo, fishermen have often been in a position of receiving less attention. “Therefore, I am determined to improve and respect our fishermen throughout Indonesia. Fishermen are often forgotten,” said Prabowo. On that occasion, President Prabowo also assured that the current government will be more present for small communities, including fishermen and farmers across the country. “The government now will pay attention to all fishermen and all farmers throughout Indonesia,” said the President.
