Prabowo Admits Initial Fatigue, But Finds Renewed Spirit at PKB Anniversary

President Prabowo Subianto admitted he initially felt tired before attending the peak celebration of the 28th anniversary of the National Awakening Party (PKB). However, he said the fatigue vanished after receiving a warm welcome from PKB cadres. “Thank you, I was invited this evening. To be honest, I was… I want to confess, is confession allowed? Confession of sins is allowed, right?” Prabowo said during his speech at the PKB anniversary event at the Jakarta Convention Centre (JCC), Senayan, Jakarta, on Thursday. “To be honest, I was exhausted. I thought, ‘Oh, there’s another PKB event.’ Well, so be it, because it’s my duty. But once I arrived, I felt a different kind of energy,” he continued. Upon arriving at the venue, Prabowo said he felt a renewed spirit thanks to the warm welcome from PKB cadres. He was greeted with a drum band performance playing patriotic songs. “PKB welcomed me with a drum band. What was the song earlier? ‘Maju Tak Gentar’,” he remarked. Prabowo then joked that PKB Chairman Muhaimin Iskandar, known as Cak Imin, had deliberately arranged a welcome suited to his background as a retired military general. “This is… Gus Imin really… he studied it. He asked around, ‘Oh… retired General Prabowo, should we welcome him with traditional gamelan?’ No, no, no, we’ll welcome him with a drum band. So he was enthusiastic,” he said. Furthermore, Prabowo admitted he was impressed upon entering the hall and hearing the PKB March being played. “I came in here, and they played the PKB March. Wow. The PKB March… be careful, you should study that. Who composed that song?” he said. Prabowo also expressed appreciation for the recommendations from the Ulama Ijtima that were presented to him during the event. He noted that PKB had prepared everything very well. “When I attend a halalbihalal event, I also observe what is presented. Then I was given these Ulama Ijtima recommendations. PKB is great, extraordinary. Thank you,” he stated.
