Prabowo Addresses Phenomenon of Indonesians Who Are Extremely Unwilling to Cooperate

President Prabowo Subianto addressed a phenomenon he has observed since assuming leadership on 20 October 2024. He raised the issue during a briefing at the Government Working Meeting at the Presidential Palace in Jakarta on Wednesday (8/4/2026).

“Indeed, brothers and sisters, there is one phenomenon that we all feel, that there are groups in society, our brothers and sisters, our fellow citizens, part of the greater NKRI family, who have an attitude that can be said to be extremely unwilling to cooperate,” he stated.

According to Prabowo, such an attitude is respected. He does not take issue with it. Prabowo then drew an analogy to the construction of a bridge by villagers in a certain village.

“Then the majority of the village decides to build a bridge and collaborates to build it. But there is a group that does not want to join in building the bridge, well, there is no problem,” said Prabowo.

“Those who want to build, come on; those who don’t want to, no problem. Please sit and watch or whatever. It’s fine. Criticism is allowed,” he continued.
