Prabowo: 83,907 homes renovated through BSPS programme
President Prabowo Subianto has stated that the government has distributed Self-Help Housing Stimulant Assistance (BSPS) to help renovate 83,907 homes up to 30 June 2026. Prabowo said this achievement is still far from the set target, meaning the government must work harder to increase the number of homes repaired. ‘This is still far from our target, we must work hard to add more,’ President Prabowo said in a speech at the 2026 MPR Annual Session and the Joint Session of the DPR-DPD RI at the MPR/DPR RI Building, Jakarta, Friday. In addition to home renovations, the government is also helping people to own homes through the Housing Financing Liquidity Facility (FLPP) programme. To date, this programme has reached nearly 100,000 homes. Meanwhile, housing loan programmes have reached 90,853 debtors. President Prabowo emphasised that a house is not merely a building or an asset, but holds important meaning for family life. ‘A house is not just a building. A house is a place for a family to take shelter, a place for children to learn and families to grow,’ said the President. On the occasion, Prabowo also touched on the experience of Telma Humea from Manado City, who previously lived in a house with fragile foundations and damaged walls, floors and roofs. Through the BSPS programme, Telma’s family was able to repair the house. According to Prabowo, the government will seek measures to increase the number of homes that can be repaired through housing assistance programmes. Prabowo also recounted the experience of Andre Kawaru from Samarinda, who for years lived in a rented house while trading rabbits from market to market. Through the subsidised FLPP mortgage, Andre was finally able to own his own home. ‘For Mr Andre’s family and millions of people in Indonesia, a house is not just an asset. A house is peace of mind, dignity, and a future,’ said Prabowo.
