The Head of Bidara Cina Sub-district, Suhartono, stated that Endri (52), a member of the Public Infrastructure and Facilities Management (PPSU) team who was a victim of a stabbing, is currently in the recovery phase. Suhartono explained that the victim has not yet returned to work as he is currently on a five-day leave to undergo medical treatment. “The PPSU victim is currently on five days of leave to undergo treatment. I recently met him at the sub-district office and his condition is stable,” Suroltano said via WhatsApp on Monday (18/05/2026). He added that the victim is receiving follow-up care at the Bidara Cina 3 community health centre, with medical costs covered by BPJS Ketenagakerjaan.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Jatinegara Police, AKP Eko Bayu, stated that the authorities are still pursuing the perpetrator. “We are still gathering information regarding the perpetrator’s whereabouts, as his parents do not reside in Bidara Cina and are unaware of his current residence,” Eko Bayu explained. He noted that the suspect occasionally visits Bidara Cina to socialise with friends and was reportedly under the influence of alcohol during the incident.

Previously, Endri, a PPSU member for the Bidara Cina Sub-district in Jatinegara, East Jakarta, was assaulted and stabbed near the Bidara Cina Sub-district Office on Thursday (14/05/2026) at 05:00 WIB. Endri recounted that just before the incident, he had finished sweeping Jalan Otista Raya and was heading to the office to clock in. According to Endri, the perpetrator became enraged after being reprimanded, subsequently physically assaulting him and shouting insults. As a result of the attack, he sustained a wound to his right thigh as well as bruising and swelling on his lip. “I apologised, but he continued to hit me. Once, twice, until I fell in front of the DKI Bank ATM located at the sub-district office. After that, he stabbed me. I just stayed still. There was a lot of blood,” Endri said.
