PPSU Worker Stabbed in East Jakarta After Refusing to Accept Reprimand
A member of the Petugas Penanganan Prasarana dan Sarana Umum (PPSU) was stabbed in the Bidara Cina Lurah’s Office area in Jatinegara, East Jakarta, on Thursday morning (14 May). Jatinegara Police Chief Kompol Samsono said the incident began when the victim admonished the suspect for wearing footwear on a floor that had just been cleaned. “The admonition sparked an argument during which the suspect allegedly struck the victim and stabbed the victim’s right thigh twice with a sharp weapon before fleeing,” Samsono told reporters on Wednesday (20 May). Samsono said the victim sustained bruising to the face, a cut on the right index finger, and a stab wound to the right thigh. “The victim subsequently received medical treatment at RSCM Central Jakarta,” he added. He said the case is being investigated by the Jatinegara Criminal Investigation Unit, including identifying and locating the assailant. “The case is now being handled by the Jatinegara Police’s Criminal Investigation Unit. Officers have conducted a scene examination, interviewed witnesses, and carried out a medical examination of the victim,” he concluded.
