PPSU Officer Issued SP1 After Uploading AI-Generated Photo of Illegal Parking Crackdown

The Head of Kalisari Ward in Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta, Siti Nurhasanah, has confirmed that the Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling Officer (PPSU) who uploaded a fake photo has been sanctioned with a First Warning Letter (SP1). This action was taken because the PPSU officer uploaded an AI-generated photo of an illegal parking crackdown on the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) app. “We apologise profusely for this incident. It serves as a lesson for us to ensure it does not happen again in the future. The officer in question has been given an SP1 and has made a statement not to repeat the action,” Siti said in her statement on Monday (6/4/2026). Siti explained that the PPSU officer initially followed up on a community report about illegal parking received through the JAKI app. However, instead of handling it directly in the field, the officer uploaded a fabricated photo as if the location had already been cleared. The action then went viral on social media. Siti emphasised that she has asked all officers to report any field obstacles. “So that solutions can be found, rather than taking the wrong steps,” she said. According to Siti, reports of illegal parking in her area occur quite frequently. Handling is carried out jointly by the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP) and PPSU, especially when reports forwarded to the Transportation Sub-Department are returned to the ward. To prevent similar incidents, the ward will hold a coordination meeting involving workshop owners, vehicle owners, and the Pasar Rebo Subdistrict Transportation Unit. “We will discuss this issue together to ensure it does not recur,” she said. Siti noted that there are still four vehicles parked at the location, two of which are damaged and awaiting repairs. She urged the Transportation Department to take action immediately because parking on the roadside clearly violates regulations and disrupts residents. The Head of the East Jakarta Transportation Sub-Department, Harlem Simanjuntak, said his side has already instructed officers to check the field. “We are awaiting the results of the ward meeting because this concerns territorial matters,” Harlem said. Harlem assured that the Transportation Department is ready to tow the vehicles if necessary. However, that step must be accompanied by clarity on the vehicle owners to avoid new problems.
