PPSU Falsifies JAKI Report Using AI, East Jakarta Mayor: Don't Take It Lightly...
JAKARTA - The Mayor of East Jakarta, Munjirin, has reminded his staff not to deceive residents regarding reports submitted through the Jakarta Kini (JAKI) app that are responded to using artificial intelligence (AI) results.
The impact of the performance of Public Facilities and Infrastructure Handling Officers (PPSU) using AI is very significant. Moreover, netizens are urging that the said PPSU officer be immediately dismissed from their job.
“Don’t mess around anymore; this has become a concern for all of us (East Jakarta City Government officials). They think it’s a small matter, but the impact is quite large,” Munjirin said, quoted by Antara on Monday (6/4/2026).
In the meeting, Munjirin asked all his subordinates to be transparent in handling every resident report.
“Every report must be handled accountably and transparently,” Munjirin said at the East Jakarta Mayor’s Office on Monday.
Previously, a netizen complained about illegal parking on residential streets in Pasar Rebo, East Jakarta.
The owner of the Threads account @seinsh stated that residents had reported the illegal parking issue up to the sub-district level.
“How do you handle illegal parking on sub-district roads? Residents protested directly to the perpetrators without success, reported to the sub-district level but it wasn’t resolved, tried reporting via JAKI but got fake evidence from AI edits,” they wrote in the post.
The Head of Kalisari Sub-district, Siti Nurhasanah, expressed an apology regarding the follow-up of the report through the JAKI app that was responded to with AI results.
“We sincerely apologise for the incident; this becomes a lesson for us so that it does not happen again in the future. The officer concerned has been given a SP1 and made a statement not to repeat the action,” Siti said in an official statement on Monday (6/4/2026).
“The PPSU officer followed up on the community’s report regarding illegal parking that came in through the JAKI app. However, in the process, the person concerned uploaded a fabricated photo instead,” she added.
