A new padel court will soon open in the Grand Dharmahusada Lagoon (GDL) residential area in Surabaya, East Java, in the second quarter of 2026. This sports facility is located near several universities, targeting student communities and the younger generation. The development is being carried out by PT PP Properti Tbk, or PPRO, through the introduction of the Sava Padel tenant as part of strengthening the lifestyle ecosystem in the area. As of now, construction of the padel court has reached approximately 75 percent progress. In the future, the facility will be equipped with eight modern-standard padel courts with a room height of up to 12 metres. VP Corporate Secretary of PPRO, Afrilia Pratiwi, stated that the presence of Sava Padel is part of the company’s strategy to provide lifestyle and community-based facilities. “PPRO continues to promote the optimisation of the area through the development of lifestyle and community-based facilities. The arrival of the padel court in the GDL area is expected to become a new crowd puller that strengthens the area’s dynamics,” said Afrilia in a press release on Tuesday (14/4/2026). According to her, this facility not only adds value for residents but also has the potential to increase long-term investment appeal. Grand Dharmahusada Lagoon itself is a residential project located in Surabaya’s educational area, near Institut Teknologi Sepuluh Nopember (ITS) and Universitas Airlangga (Unair). The location is considered to have great potential as a centre for youth activities and urban communities, while also strengthening the area’s position as an integrated residential hub. PPRO states that all facilities in the GDL area are designed in an integrated manner, from housing and commercial areas to lifestyle facilities such as padel courts, to support a balance between activities, recreation, and social interaction.
