PPPA Ministry Guarantees Continuous Assistance for Female Violence Victim

The Ministry of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection (Kemen PPPA) guarantees comprehensive and continuous assistance to YTR, a woman who was a victim of abuse and false imprisonment in Bandung, West Java. Minister of PPPA Arifah Fauzi stated in Malang, East Java, on Monday evening that the assistance efforts are aimed at restoring the victim’s psychological condition. “Especially psychological recovery to eliminate trauma and so forth, we are providing assistance until the victim feels it is sufficient,” she said. The Ministry of PPPA confirmed it will collaborate with various parties in carrying out psychological assistance for the victim. She admitted that a full assessment has not yet been conducted, considering YTR’s health condition, who is currently still undergoing intensive medical care. “She cannot be spoken to for long and we also have to consider her health condition, so the priority is the victim’s comfort,” she said. “Her condition is now better, her wounds are beginning to dry, but there are still several things that need to be addressed by the medical team of 40 doctors, so it will take more time for her recovery,” she added. The abuse and false imprisonment experienced by YTR was perpetrated by a man with the initials TH. The suspected perpetrator has been arrested by the West Java Regional Police. The case of abuse and false imprisonment against YTR came to light after the victim’s family received a message via the WhatsApp messaging application from an unknown person. The information stated that the victim was in the Emergency Department of Hasan Sadikin Hospital in Bandung. The West Java Regional Police stated that after receiving the information, the victim’s family immediately went to the hospital and found YTR suffering from severe injuries to her head, face, and legs. In addition, the victim suffered minor injuries to her hands.
