PPP protests at poster ban

SEMARANG: The Central Java board of the United Development
Party has lodged a formal protest with the administration for
banning the party from displaying flags and posters in connection
with the party's 23rd anniversary last week.

Several branches have reported to the board that they were
prevented from displaying the flags and posters, Thoyfoer, deputy
chairman of the board, told Antara.

Another official said the party is debating whether to
prosecute the regency administrations that issued the ban. (emb)
