PPP camels on the loose
PPP camels on the loose
JAKARTA: Activists of the Muslim-based United Development
Party (PPP) know how to attract a crowd and entertain their
supporters.
On Monday, party followers successfully attracted huge crowds
in their last round of campaigning in South Jakarta with a pair
of paper camels operated by four people.
They paraded the "camels" and children ran after them,
thinking that the puppets were the real desert animals they can
see only at zoos here.
Party activists told Antara they spent Rp 250,000 (US$32) of
their own money to make the paper camels.
