PPP Cadres Pursue Legal Action Over Alleged Document Forgery
A number of United Development Party (PPP) cadres have reported three individuals—M. Thobahul Aftoni, Saiful Hakim, and Subadri—to the Metro Jaya Regional Police over alleged forgery of signatures and documents linked to the party’s congress scheduled for 27 September 2025. The report was filed with legal counsel Syamsul Ma’arif Wijaya representing the complainants. Syamsul stated there were indications of forged signatures of several PPP Branch Executive Board (DPC) chairpersons from various regions, found in congress documents including attendance lists and other supporting files. “Today, five people reported the alleged signature forgery. They come from various regions, such as West Java, Bengkulu, Southeast Sulawesi, and the General Chairperson of PP GPK. The victims stated they never signed these documents,” Syamsul said after filing the report at Metro Jaya Police on Tuesday (16/6). He explained that the number of suspected victims is not limited to five. Based on available data, hundreds of PPP DPC officials across various regions are believed to have experienced similar forgery. However, only five have officially filed police reports so far. “The actual victims number around 200 DPCs from various regions. Today, only five have reported, and the number is likely to increase as the data collection and evidence gathering process continues,” he said. Syamsul further noted that the documents allegedly containing forged signatures were used in ongoing legal proceedings at the State Administrative Court (PTUN) and the District Court (PN). Consequently, the victims are considered to have suffered both legal and moral harm. “We are assisting the victims who feel aggrieved because their identities and signatures were used without consent. This concerns the integrity of the DPC chairpersons and could potentially erode trust in them,” he stated. The five individuals who filed the report with the Metro Jaya Police are Fadli, Chairperson of PPP Indramayu DPC; Imam Fauzan A. Uskara, General Chairperson of PP GPK and General Treasurer; Akhdan, Chairperson of PPP Kolaka Regency DPC, Southeast Sulawesi; Ansori, Chairperson of PPP Seluma Regency DPC, Bengkulu; and M. Rifki Saefudin, Chairperson of PPP Cirebon Regency DPC. One of the complainants, M. Rifki Saefudin, asserted that he never signed the documents in question. “Today we reported the alleged document forgery because my signature was suspected to have been falsified by the three individuals we named. We believe the legal process will reveal the truth,” Rifki said. The report has been received by the Metro Jaya Police, and the complainants have submitted supporting documents for the investigation.
