PPKGBK Prepares Legal and Technical Aspects for Hotel Sultan Handover
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - The Central Management of Gelora Bung Karno Complex (PPKGBK) is preparing for the management transfer of Hotel Sultan located in the Gelora Bung Karno (GBK) area, Senayan, Central Jakarta.
Legal Counsel for the State Secretary and PPKGBK, Kharis Sucipto, stated that various aspects are being prepared for the transfer process.
“Various aspects are being prepared, including legal, technical, administrative, and other necessary matters. Essentially, preparations have been made to secure the state asset,” Kharis told Kompas.com on Wednesday (27 May 2026).
Hotel Sultan is set to be evicted on Thursday (18 June 2026), following a ruling by the Central Jakarta District Court regarding the clearance of Block 15 in the GBK area, formerly the Hotel Sultan site.
Kharis said that, based on information from the Central Jakarta District Court, an Eviction Execution Notice dated 19 May 2026 has been sent to PT Indobuildco via registered mail.
According to Kharis, the court’s deadline is deemed sufficient for PT Indobuildco to voluntarily vacate the Block 15 GBK premises.
On the other hand, PPKGBK as the new manager also has time to prepare the transfer process to ensure it proceeds orderly, safely, and without disrupting public interests.
“With almost a month’s gap, we hope Indobuildco will voluntarily vacate the premises. The court’s notice also urges occupants or anyone granted rights by Indobuildco to occupy or use the land and buildings to vacate voluntarily. This is crucial to prevent new issues during the eviction execution,” Kharis stated in an official release, cited on Tuesday (26 May 2026).
PT Indobuildco is a company owned by Pontjo Sutowo, which has been managing Hotel Sultan.
“This is a final decision. The Central Jakarta District Court has set 18 June 2026 as the date for the eviction execution of Block 15 GBK, formerly the Hotel Sultan area. Therefore, we urge all parties to respect and support the execution to proceed smoothly,” Kharis said.
PPKGBK Director General Rakhmadi A. Kusumo stated that his office respects the eviction execution date.
He said the return of Block 15 GBK is a crucial opportunity to ensure state assets are managed professionally, transparently, and benefit the nation.
“We are grateful that this state asset will be professionally managed. The proceeds will return to the state and ultimately serve public interests,” Rakhmadi said.
Legal Counsel for PT Indobuildco, Hamdan Zoelva, confirmed his company will pursue further legal action regarding the Hotel Sultan dispute in Central Jakarta.
