PPIT Initiates Program to Send Indonesian Students to Beijing and Shaanxi in July 2026

Bandung (ANTARA) - The Indonesia-China Friendship Association (PPIT) has initiated a programme to send Indonesian students and youth to Beijing and Shaanxi Province. “The exchange programme is scheduled to roll out in two waves in July and October next year,” said the General Chair of PPIT, Al Busyra Basnur, in Bandung on Tuesday.

He stated that this exchange programme is a tangible implementation of promoting the role of the younger generation in strengthening the relationship between Indonesia and China, under the umbrella of the Bandung Spirit and Pancasila, which were echoed during the 1955 Asian-African Conference. “We are creating something new that has never been done before. In addition to the student exchanges in July and October, we are also organising a writing competition, and the winners will be sent to Beijing for one week,” Al Busyra added.

According to him, youth are the controllers of the global future; therefore, connectivity between the younger generations of Indonesia and China must be triggered through progressive programmes. Beyond physical exchanges, PPIT also aims to publish at least two books in 2026. These books will summarise the views and ideas of young Indonesian professionals and students regarding the dynamics of the relationship and future cooperation opportunities between the two nations. To ensure the sustainability of the programme, PPIT, which is currently supported by China’s high-level diplomatic institution, China’s People’s Association for Friendship with Foreign Countries (CPAFFC), plans to publish special publications regarding people-to-people cooperation as a regular space for the dissemination of ideas.
