The Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) has reminded members of the Padang Debarkation hajj group in West Sumatra to be disciplined in undergoing a 14-day self-isolation period after arriving back in the country following their pilgrimage in the Holy Land.

“So, upon arriving home, hajj pilgrims should not go anywhere for 14 days, or undergo isolation and monitor their health condition,” said Deputy Chair of the PPIH Health Division for the Padang Hajj Embarkation, Dr Resnita, on Tuesday (16/6/2026).

If within that two-week period a pilgrim complains of illness or their health condition deteriorates, they are advised to immediately consult the nearest hospital or health facility.

She conveyed the importance of maintaining discipline among hajj pilgrims upon arrival in the homeland, as it relates to the health aspects of the individual concerned as well as the people around them.

She acknowledged that quite a number of hajj pilgrims are still found to be undisciplined in following the 14-day isolation recommendation. One solution she suggested is for hajj pilgrims and those around them to wear masks to anticipate the potential for certain diseases that could be transmitted.
