PPIH Prepares Final Push for Indonesian Pilgrims to Madinah
Makkah (ANTARA) - The Hajj Organising Committee (PPIH) is ready to carry out the final push of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims from Makkah to Madinah, scheduled for Monday (22/6) at 08:00 Saudi Arabia Time. As this movement concludes, the Shalawat bus service will also be discontinued on the same day at 12:00 local time. “We ask all pilgrims still in Makkah to adjust their activities according to the departure schedule to Madinah, prepare suitcases and belongings early, ensure travel documents are stored safely, and remain in coordination with their group leader and officers,” said Ministry of Hajj and Umrah (Kemenhaj) Spokesperson Maria Assegaff in Makkah on Monday. According to Maria, the repatriation process for Indonesian Hajj pilgrims from Saudi Arabia continues to run smoothly. As of Sunday (21/6/2026), a total of 135,872 people, or about two-thirds of the total Indonesian pilgrims and staff, have returned to the homeland. Today marks the 62nd day of operations for the 1447 H/2026 M Hajj season and the 20th day of the repatriation phase for Indonesian pilgrims. “Alhamdulillah, the repatriation process of pilgrims from Saudi Arabia to Indonesia continues to proceed well. To date, 347 flight groups have arrived in the homeland carrying 134,484 pilgrims and 1,388 staff. Total arrivals have reached 135,872 people, or about 66 per cent,” said Maria. Meanwhile, 87 flight groups carrying 33,297 pilgrims and 349 staff have departed via Madinah Airport, bringing the total second-wave returns to 33,646 people. The movement of second-wave pilgrims from Makkah to Madinah is also ongoing. To date, 244 flight groups have been dispatched carrying 92,861 pilgrims and 976 staff, totalling 93,837 people. As for special Hajj pilgrims who have returned to the homeland, the number stands at 15,802 people, comprising 15,066 pilgrims and 736 staff. She also urged pilgrims already in Madinah to use the available time to increase worship in an orderly manner and maintain their health. “Choose activities according to your physical ability, get enough rest, maintain your diet and fluid intake, and take medication regularly as advised by health workers. If you experience health complaints or need assistance, immediately contact Indonesian Hajj officers,” she said. Ahead of their return, Maria again reminded pilgrims to ensure passports, Hajj identity cards, boarding passes, and belongings are stored properly. Suitcases and cabin bags are also requested to be clearly labelled to avoid being swapped or left behind. “We remind pilgrims once again not to put Zamzam water into checked luggage or cabin bags. Zamzam water has been prepared and will be officially distributed at each debarkation point,” said Maria.
