PPIH ensures laundry facilities for Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims are adequately provided
Makkah (ANTARA) - Saudi Arabian Hajj Organising Officials (PPIH) have assured that the needs for laundry and drying facilities for Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims at their hotels are being well met.
Head of the Accommodation Services Section at the Makkah Consulate General, PPIH Saudi Arabia, Suryo Panilih, stated that they have coordinated with the company and hotel management to provide alternative locations as a solution to the regulation prohibiting drying on the building rooftop.
He explained that for hotels that previously had dedicated rooftop drying areas, the activities of prospective Hajj pilgrims will be moved to new prepared areas.
Meanwhile, for hotels that do not yet have drying facilities, the management is preparing dedicated areas equipped with drainage for water disposal.
PPIH continues to monitor and supervise the construction process of these new areas, which is estimated to take one to three days, so that pilgrims can immediately use them for daily washing.
Overall, Suryo assured that the accommodation services for prospective Hajj pilgrims in Makkah are running safely and smoothly. The hotel management continues to commit to fulfilling responsibilities according to the contract, including providing receptionists, adequate lifts, washing machines, and drinking water for the pilgrims.
Regarding the policy of prohibiting clothes drying on hotel rooftops that was previously issued, Suryo emphasised that the measure was taken by Saudi authorities solely to safeguard the safety of the pilgrims while complying with the applicable city order regulations in Makkah.
