PPIH 2026 Tasked with Serving Indonesian Hajj Pilgrims, Deputy Minister: No Need for Flexing
Deputy Minister of Hajj and Umrah Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak has emphasised that the 2026 Hajj Service Officers (PPIH) are currently carrying out state duties. He conveyed this directly to the PPIH 2026 at the Hajj Dormitory in Pondok Gede, Jakarta. The PPIH 2026 are expected to prepare their physical, mental, spiritual conditions, as well as manage their emotions, to ensure the success of Indonesian prospective Hajj pilgrims in performing their worship in the Holy Land. “We are ready to make the 2026 Hajj a success. Mental readiness is important, including the ability to manage emotions, so that the physical strength we have is truly supported by spiritual strength that is ready,” Dahnil explained, quoted from Kompas.com on Friday (17/4/2026). The government is deploying hundreds of PPIH to serve there to meet all the needs of Indonesian Hajj pilgrims with full responsibility. “Intend this departure that we are all fulfilling worship through our role as Hajj officers serving the pilgrims so they can perform their worship well. This is a sacred mission, not just for ourselves, but also for family, religion, and the nation,” Dahnil stressed. For that reason, avoid excessive showing off or flexing on social media. “I hope my fellow officers focus on their duties to accompany and protect the pilgrims. So no need for all that flexing, showing off activities,” Dahnil explained. This is to make it easier for pilgrims and their families in the homeland to obtain the latest information. “But for da’wah, I think we encourage them to do da’wah, meaning to inform, da’wah to educate, even we recommend all officers to do education via social media, good news. Then ensure that good and needed information reaches the pilgrims and their families,” he clarified.
