PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PPI) participated in the Cheap Food Movement (GPM) organised by the National Food Agency at SMP IT Ruhama, Tapos, Depok, West Java on Friday 13 March 2026. The programme was conducted to maintain food availability and price affordability ahead of Lebaran.

PPI’s Corporate Secretary and Corporate Social Responsibility official Ira Berlianty Aziz stated that the activity aimed to supply staple foodstuffs at more affordable prices for the public. “This activity is an effort to ensure the availability of staple foodstuffs at prices that are affordable for society,” said Ira in a written statement.

In the activity, PPI sold various food commodities at below-market prices, including buffalo meat at Rp72,000 per kilogram, granulated sugar at Rp17,000 per kilogram, and Minyakita cooking oil at Rp15,500 per litre. Salt, eggs, flour, and various other basic necessities were also available.

Ira noted that the Cheap Food Movement represented one approach to facilitate public access to foodstuffs through direct distribution. “PPI’s participation in the Cheap Food Movement is expected to help maintain public purchasing power whilst providing broader access to quality foodstuffs at reasonable prices,” said Ira.

According to Ira, the activity received strong response from surrounding communities who took advantage of the programme to purchase basic necessities at more affordable prices.

PPI will continue its participation in the Cheap Food Movement at the South Bogor District Office in Empang, Bogor on 14 March 2026, and at the Ministry of Religious Affairs Regional Office grounds in Jakarta on 15–17 March 2026.
