PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PPI) is strengthening the mentoring of UMKM through sharing sessions and assistance for partners in the Micro and Small Business Funding Programme (PUMK). This programme was held together with PT BRI (Persero) Tbk in Semarang, Central Java.

Head of Corporate Secretariat and TJSL at PT PPI, Ira Berlianty Aziz, stated that the mentoring is conducted routinely to ensure the effectiveness of the programme. “This is done as a strategic step to monitor the development of the businesses of the mentored partners, while also ensuring that the utilisation of the disbursed funding can have a real impact on business growth,” said Ira in a written statement in Jakarta on Wednesday (15/4/2026).

Ira explained that mentoring is key to ensuring UMKM not only gain access to financing but also improvements in business capacity. PPI, she said, acts as a strategic partner that encourages business actors to develop and upgrade. “Through the PUMK Programme, we are not only present as a funding distributor, but also as a partner that assists business actors to have competitiveness and sustainability,” Ira stated.

In addition, this activity is also used to identify challenges faced by UMKM in the field. The results of that evaluation serve as the basis for the company in designing more targeted mentoring.

Ira emphasised that this programme is expected to expand market access while increasing the business capacity of the mentored partners. “PPI through this initiative is committed to supporting inclusive and sustainable economic development, while also strengthening the contribution of micro and small businesses in Indonesia,” said Ira.
