PT Perusahaan Perdagangan Indonesia (PPI) is expanding global market access through the export of gum resin. A total of 32 metric tons of this commodity was shipped to India from Tanjung Priok Port.

The Head of the Company Secretariat and TJSL at PPI, Ira Berlianty Aziz, stated that this export demonstrates the high market interest in the commodity. Indonesian gum resin is considered to have superior quality. “This export shows the high demand from the international market for Indonesian gum resin,” said Ira on Wednesday (22/4/2026).

According to Ira, gum resin has various benefits, ranging from the food industry and cosmetics to other raw materials. The potential of this non-timber forest product is still considered significant for development.

“This export activity is part of the company’s commitment to strengthening its role in national trade,” said Ira.

PPI is also consistently promoting gum resin exports. In February 2026, the company shipped 12 metric tons of Gum Damar ABX and 3 metric tons of Gum Damar Dust.

The company ensures that the entire export process runs optimally, from procurement to distribution. This step is taken to maintain product quality in accordance with international market standards.

“This export activity also has a positive impact on local business actors, including farmers and gum collectors,” said Ira.

PPI assesses that this export also strengthens an inclusive trade ecosystem. In addition, this step is expected to encourage national economic growth through improved export performance.
