PPA CSR Initiatives Range from Earthquake Relief to Javanese Script Preservation
PT Perusahaan Pengelola Aset (Persero), also known as PPA, has rolled out several Corporate Social Responsibility and Environmental (TJSL) programmes throughout August 2026, ranging from health and education assistance to earthquake relief in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) and the preservation of Javanese script. These programmes were implemented across several regions, including Greater Jakarta, East Java, and NTT.
PPA President Director M. Teguh Wirahadikusumah stated that the series of programmes covers four key areas: public health, education, natural disaster relief or emergency response, and socio-cultural preservation.
“The momentum of the 81st Anniversary of Indonesian Independence serves as a reminder for us to continue being present and contributing directly to the community,” Teguh said in a written statement in Jakarta on Monday (31/8/2026).
The activities commenced with a blood donation drive on 14 August 2026, at Menara Danareksa in collaboration with Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM). The event saw 197 participants, exceeding the target of 15 to 150, with the donated blood handed over to RSCM to support the blood supply.
PPA also conducted the PPA Mengajar Employee Volunteer Programme (EVP), involving 15 employee volunteers teaching 41 students from grades 2 to 6 at Sekolah Kami in Bekasi.
“In addition to teaching activities, PPA also provided educational assistance to four institutions serving children with limited access to education, namely Sekolah Kami (Bekasi), Rumah Autis/Cagar Foundation (Bekasi), Sekolah Masjid Terminal (Depok), and Sekolah Tahfidzpreneur (Bogor),” Teguh added.
These four institutions serve children of scavengers, the underprivileged, persons with disabilities, street children, and orphans within the Greater Jakarta area.
To respond to the earthquake in NTT, PPA distributed two tonnes of logistical aid in two stages. The first stage was delivered on 19 August 2026 through the BNPB Logistics Assistance Post at Halim Perdanakusuma Airbase, consisting of one tonne of basic food supplies in 196 packages, including instant noodles, rice, corned beef, and sardines.
“The second stage was carried out on 22 August 2026 in collaboration with the Hasanuddin University Engineering Alumni Association (IKATEK UNHAS),” he continued.
The second stage, weighing one tonne, included rice, instant noodles, cooking oil, eggs, UHT milk, drinking water, as well as operational support such as electricity and rations for volunteers on the ground.
Teguh stated that PPA acted to respond to the NTT earthquake because the basic needs of the affected community required immediate attention.
“Collaboration with BNPB and IKATEK UNHAS ensures that aid can be distributed effectively and precisely,” said Teguh.
The CSR series concluded with support for the ‘6-Hour Training to Read and Write Carakan Jawa (Javanese Script)’ programme, organised by the Bina Aksara Mulya Foundation on 27 and 29 August 2026.
The programme was held at the Tambakberas Islamic Boarding School in Jombang and the Mambaul Ma’arif Denanyar Islamic Boarding School in Jombang, East Java, focusing on strengthening Javanese script literacy among the younger generation within the boarding school environment.
Teguh noted that all CSR activities involved PPA employees as volunteers alongside several partners in their execution.
“Moving forward, PPA will continue to strengthen CSR programmes that deliver real impact to society, respond to urgent needs, and support the preservation of our nation’s cultural values,” said Teguh.
