The policy from the Ministry of Communication and Digital regarding Government Regulation (PP) Tunas has garnered appreciation. This regulation is considered vital for creating a safe and healthy digital space for the younger generation. The Central Leadership of the Ansor Youth Movement expressed support for the policy, as it addresses the growing challenge of exposure to negative content in cyberspace. GP Ansor General Chairman Addin Jauharudin stated that the wave of digitalisation brings both opportunities and challenges that must be managed wisely. “PP Tunas represents the state’s presence in ensuring that the digital space does not become a wild area that endangers the future of the younger generation. This is not merely a regulation, but a long-term investment in the quality of Indonesia’s human resources,” Addin said in his statement in Jakarta on Tuesday (31/3/2026). Addin explained that the challenges facing the younger generation are not only related to access to information, but also the ability to filter and utilise it responsibly. Without adequate regulation, the digital space has the potential to become a medium for spreading disinformation, harmful content, and child exploitation. GP Ansor assesses that PP Tunas contains several important aspects, including child protection from exposure to violence, pornography, and exploitation, as well as strengthening digital literacy among the public. This policy also encourages the responsibility of digital platforms in maintaining the social ecosystem, while balancing freedom of expression with ethics and public interest. Addin stated that GP Ansor is ready to engage in the implementation of the policy through cadre training, digital literacy, and grassroots social movements. “GP Ansor is ready to become a strategic partner to the government so that PP Tunas does not remain just on paper. We will mobilise cadres across Indonesia to become agents of digital literacy and guardians of morals in cyberspace,” Addin said. GP Ansor also emphasised the importance of collaboration between the government, civil society organisations, and the private sector amid challenges from technological disruption and social polarisation. The organisation invites all elements of society to utilise this policy momentum to shape a generation that is not only digitally competent but also of integrity.
