PP Persis Commends 2026 Hajj, Highlights Key Evaluations for 2027 Season
The Secretary General of the Central Board of Persatuan Islam (Persis), KH Haris Muslim, has assessed that the implementation of the 1447 Hijriyah/2026 AD Hajj pilgrimage proceeded smoothly and successfully. According to him, a number of improvements made by the Government of Saudi Arabia and the Hajj organising authorities succeeded in enhancing service quality, particularly in managing the mobilisation of pilgrims in Arafah, Muzdalifah, and Mina (Armuzna).
KH Haris Muslim, who also received a mandate as a Religious Supervisor (Musyrif Dini) from the Ministry of Hajj and Umrah of the Republic of Indonesia, stated that the most visible indicator of success was the smooth movement of pilgrims towards Arafah and onwards to Mina. “Overall, the implementation of the 1447 Hijriyah Hajj pilgrimage went smoothly and successfully. The mobilisation or management of pilgrims, especially in Armuzna, can be said to be better than in previous years,” said KH Haris in a press release received by the Hajj Media Center (MCH) on Thursday (18/6/2026).
He explained that all pilgrims following the regular scheme had arrived in Arafah on the night of 9 Zulhijjah. Meanwhile, pilgrims participating in the Tarwiyah programme were also already in Arafah before Zuhr time. Thus, KH Haris continued, the main pillar of the Hajj pilgrimage, namely the wukuf in Arafah, could be performed properly by all pilgrims.
Smoothness was also evident during the transfer of pilgrims from Arafah to Muzdalifah and Mina. According to Haris, the implementation of the overnight stay (mabit) and passing through (murur) in Muzdalifah this year was one of the best. “At 07:00 in the morning on the 10th of Zulhijjah, all pilgrims were already moving towards Mina. Muzdalifah was clear from the early morning. This is an achievement that rarely occurred in previous years,” he said.
