PP KAMMI Clarifies Amri Akbar's Status Following Press Conference
The Central Board of the Indonesian Muslim Student Action Union (PP KAMMI) has issued a clarification regarding the status of Muhammad Amri Akbar within the organisation. PP KAMMI stated that Amri has been dismissed.
This was conveyed by PP KAMMI in a right-of-reply document received by detikcom on Wednesday (26/8/2026). The right of reply was sent by PP KAMMI in relation to news reports featuring Amri Akbar and identifying him as KAMMI chairman.
The following is PP KAMMI’s statement regarding Amri Akbar’s status within the organisation:
PP KAMMI affirms that the individual appearing in the circulating photos and videos claiming to represent PP KAMMI is Muhammad Amri Akbar. The person concerned is no longer part of the KAMMI family. He has been officially and dishonourably dismissed from KAMMI membership through two official decrees, namely:
Decree Number 078/SK/KU/-i/KAMMI/V/2025 dated 14 May 2025 concerning dismissal from the position of Secretary General of PP KAMMI;
Decree Number 101/SK/KU-i/KAMMI/IX/2025 dated 8 September 2025 concerning the imposition of organisational sanctions in the form of full membership termination.
The right-of-reply document was signed by PP KAMMI Secretary General Nazmul Watan and PP KAMMI Chairman Ahmad Juhdi Khalifatullah.
