The Central Executive Board of the Al Washliyah Student Association (PP Himmah) supports the position of the Polri institution remaining directly under the President. PP Himmah believes that this position is important to avoid potential conflicts of interest.

This was conveyed by the General Chairman of PP Himmah, Abdul Razak Nasution, after submitting a letter of support to Polri. Razak said that this support aims to strengthen professionalism and maintain the neutrality of Polri.

“Support for Polri to remain directly under the President is to avoid overlapping authorities and potential conflicts of interest,” said Razak in a written statement, Thursday (February 26, 2026).

PP Himmah appreciates the firm stance of the National Police Chief, General Listyo Sigit Prabowo, who rejected the discourse on placing Polri under a ministry. In addition, he encouraged strengthening the role of the National Police Commission (Kompolnas) so that the supervision of Polri’s policies and strategic direction runs more effectively and objectively.

Razak believes that Polri, as a law enforcement agency that plays a central role in maintaining national security and public order, has shown a strong commitment to being under the direct leadership of President Prabowo Subianto.

“This position not only strengthens the synergy between the executive power and law enforcement agencies, but also increases the effectiveness and accountability of Polri’s work in serving the nation and state,” said Razak.

According to him, this position is also emphasized to ensure better coordination in handling various national security challenges. From combating organized crime to disaster management.

However, PP Himmah reminded that the process of appointing the National Police Chief must still follow a democratic mechanism through a fit and proper test conducted by the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) RI.

“This is important to ensure that even though it is under the executive power, Polri still maintains the principles of openness and parliamentary control as an important part of the Indonesian democratic system,” explained Razak.

There are three main points that PP Himmah conveyed in its letter of support to Polri:

First, fully support Mr. President Prabowo Subianto in positioning the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to remain directly under the President;

Second, fully support Polri to be directly under the President without going through any ministry;

Third, state support that the process of selecting the Chief of the Indonesian National Police (Kapolri) still goes through the fit and proper test stage conducted by the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR RI).
