PP Bahrul Ulum Jombang prepares infrastructure for 35th NU Congress

Jombang (ANTARA) - Pondok Pesantren Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas in Jombang Regency, East Java, is preparing infrastructure, including venues and parking areas, for the 35th Muktamar of Nahdlatul Ulama (NU), to be held on 27-31 August 2026.

Chairman of the Bahrul Ulum Islamic Boarding School Foundation in Jombang Regency, K.H. Abdurrozaq Sholeh, said his side has formed a small team to prepare for the 35th NU Muktamar. The team is discussing technical matters related to preparations for the event’s venue.

“Alhamdulillah, we have formed a small team to follow up on PBNU’s decision appointing us as host of the 35th NU Muktamar. In terms of infrastructure, Tambakberas (Pondok Pesantren Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas Jombang) is fully prepared to welcome the arrival of some 6,000 muktamirin (delegates) from various regions across Indonesia,” he said in Jombang on Wednesday.

He revealed that the pesantren will provide two hectares of parking land, which is expected to be sufficient to accommodate the delegates’ vehicles.

In addition to the parking area, the pesantren is preparing a number of supporting facilities, such as a bazaar area, rest areas, and activity locations at several points within the pesantren grounds.

“We have prepared venues at several points. There is a field area for the bazaar, rest areas, and parking. In the near future we will also complete the two-hectare parking site in East Tambakberas,” he said.

Abdurrozaq added that the main activities of the 35th NU Muktamar are planned to be centred at the K.H. Hasbullah Said Multipurpose Hall (GSHS) within the Bahrul Ulum pesantren complex in Jombang.

According to him, the building was chosen for its large capacity and because it has previously been used for a number of national-scale events.

“The main location is at GSHS because the venue is very representative. It was previously used to welcome the 7th President and Vice President,” said Abdurrozaq.

He added that so far there have been no significant obstacles in the preparation process, as most of the facilities and infrastructure are already available and only require finishing touches on certain parts.

“There are only a few minor finishing touches needed. Overall, everything is ready,” Abdurrozaq said.
