Power supply to Sentul cut
JAKARTA (JP): State-run electricity firm PLN has cut the power
supply to the go cart track at Sentul circuit yesterday after the
latter failed to pay an outstanding bill of Rp 7 million (US$700)
for the first six months of this year.
Head of PLN's Bogor branch Pandoe A said yesterday the
management of Sentul circuit, controlled by former President
Soeharto's youngest son Hutomo "Tommy" Mandala Putra, had ignored
several warnings on the late payment.
"As a result, we have had to cut the power supply temporarily
to Sentul circuit," he was quoted as saying by Antara yesterday.
Pandoe admitted that it was impossible for his company to take
the action when Soeharto was still in power several months ago.
"But after Soeharto resigned from presidency, we feel obliged
to cut the power supply," he said. (aly)
