Power Supply Disruption Resolved, Electricity Restored in Jakarta
JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT PLN (Persero) has confirmed that the power supply disruption from the substation causing blackouts in several Jakarta areas on Thursday night (9/4/2026) has been fully repaired. Senior Manager of Communication and Public Affairs for PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Haris Andika, confirmed that the electricity supply in Jakarta has now been completely restored. “100 percent back on, PLN assures that all areas affected by the substation supply disruption have returned to normal at 20.00 WIB,” Haris stated in his official remarks on Thursday night. “Starting from the Angke, Kebon Jeruk, Kebayoran Lama, Kebayoran Baru, Mampang, Ketapang, and Karet areas,” he explained. With the restoration of the power supply, Haris assured that the public can now resume normal activities. PLN is also continuing to prepare complaint services and an information centre for residents who may still encounter issues on the ground. “For updates on information and PLN electricity services, customers can access the PLN Mobile application and PLN Contact Centre 123,” Haris said. Previously reported, several Jakarta areas were impacted by simultaneous blackouts on Thursday night (9/4/2026). Haris mentioned that areas still affected by the blackout until 20.00 WIB tonight were the Angke sub-district and surrounding areas. “Currently, Angke and its surroundings are still impacted. PLN is carrying out gradual normalisation efforts,” he explained.
