Power saving and Monas fountain
Power saving and Monas fountain
From Bisnis Indonesia
As a Jakarta citizen, I was shocked to read and watch media
reports on the inauguration of the National Monument (Monas)
fountain worth Rp 26 billion by Jakarta Governor Sutiyoso on July
23.
Though at first glance the grand facilities should make
Jakarta people feel proud of the capital city, what the Jakarta
administration offers contradicts the government appeal for the
saving of electricity.
In spite of the enhancement of Jakarta's beauty and promotion
of its tourism, it is necessary to develop empathy with the
masses now reducing power consumption.
As one of the city's electricity subscribers I can only call
on the Jakarta administration to share the feelings of its people
during this period of constraint and set a good example to be
imitated by society.
