JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT PLN (Persero), through PLN UID Jakarta Raya, has addressed the power outage that temporarily occurred in several areas of Jakarta today, Thursday (23/4/2026).

Senior Manager of Communication and Public Relations for PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Haris Andika, stated that there was a disruption in the electricity supply impacting the power in several Jakarta areas.

“A disruption in the electricity supply occurred, affecting several areas in Jakarta. PLN is focused on restoration efforts,” he told Kompas.com on Thursday (23/4/2026).

“Updates on the electricity service conditions can be provided through the PLN Mobile application and PLN Contact Centre 123,” he added.

The power outage was felt around 11:00 WIB.

The outage was widely discussed by netizens on social media platform X.

For instance, the account @djkangg* questioned why South Jakarta (Jaksel), East Jakarta (Jaktim), and Bekasi experienced a power outage.

Through the X account @pln_123, PLN responded to one netizen’s complaint, stating that repair work on the power plant was underway, impacting power conditions in several Jakarta areas.

“We apologise for the inconvenience. As part of efforts to improve the reliability of electricity supply, PLN is currently conducting power plant repair activities that require operational adjustments or load management in parts of Jakarta,” wrote @pln_123.
