JAKARTA, KOMPAS.com - PT PLN (Persero) has confirmed that the electricity system in the Jakarta region, which experienced a disruption, has been fully restored to 100 per cent on Thursday afternoon (23/4/2026).

Senior Manager of Communication and Public Affairs at PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Haris Andika, stated that the power outage occurred at 10:25 WIB and affected parts of the region.

“PT PLN (Persero) has successfully restored 100 per cent of the electricity system that experienced a disruption in parts of Jakarta at 10:25 WIB,” Haris said in an official statement received by Kompas.com on Thursday.

“The cause requires an investigation that will take time,” he added.

He explained that the restoration was carried out in stages.

Most affected areas were restored by 12:23 WIB.

“Meanwhile, the remaining approximately 5 per cent was restored by 15:05 WIB,” he said.

He revealed that the disruption affected several substations in the Jakarta area.

“As an illustration, the electricity system in the Jakarta and surrounding areas is supported by 76 substations. Of that number, 13 substations were temporarily impacted by the power supply disruption,” Haris disclosed.

“PLN continues to strive to strengthen the reliability of the electricity system and extends apologies for the inconvenience caused,” Haris added.

He explained that customers seeking information and PLN services can access the PLN Mobile application or the PLN Contact Centre at 123.

Previously, netizens on social media Threads widely complained about the power outage in several Jakarta areas on Thursday (23/4/2026).

Some locations reported to be affected by the blackout include Jalan Raya Sultan Agung in Setiabudi, South Jakarta, as well as the Cipinang area in East Jakarta.
