PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda) has reported an operational disruption at several stations on Thursday (9/4/2026) at 17:57 WIB. The Head of the Corporate Secretary Division of PT MRT Jakarta (Perseroda), Rendy Primartantyo, explained that the disruption was caused by a power supply issue from PLN (CSW). As a result, some station facilities experienced operational problems. “This operational disruption was caused by a power supply issue from PLN (CSW), resulting in some station facilities, such as lighting, elevators, escalators, and other facilities, experiencing disruptions,” Rendy stated in his official remarks. “All elevated stations experienced a blackout condition, but they have now been successfully normalised,” he added. MRT Jakarta stated that it has taken quick handling and normalisation measures and continues to coordinate with relevant parties to ensure services return to normal. “Currently, on-site personnel continue to monitor the situation and ensure services run smoothly. Further information will be provided periodically,” he continued. Rendy also extended apologies to customers for the inconvenience. “We apologise for this inconvenience. The safety of MRT Jakarta passengers remains our top priority,” he concluded. One incident occurred at Duri Station in Tambora, West Jakarta, which appeared pitch black due to the blackout. Passengers were seen panicking and running while turning on their phone torches. Similar conditions occurred at Lebak Bulus MRT Station and Cipete MRT Station in South Jakarta, which also experienced power disruptions.
