Power Outage Hits Jakarta, PLN Investigates Cause
PT PLN (Persero) is currently restoring the electricity system following a disruption that occurred in parts of Jakarta since 10:25 WIB. Senior Manager of Communication and Public Relations for PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Haris Andika, stated that the normalisation of the power supply is being carried out gradually, both through the control system and direct handling in the field. “Our technical teams are currently conducting intensive handling to restore the entire electricity system,” he said in a written statement on Thursday (23/4/2026). Along with the restoration process, PLN is also tracing the source of the disruption that occurred. The company has urged the public to remain calm and not be influenced by unaccountable information. “At this time, all personnel are on standby and striving to restore the power supply as soon as possible,” he added. According to him, PLN will provide periodic updates on the restoration process through the PLN Mobile app and PLN Contact Center 123. For information, the power outage was reported in several points, including the Mampang and Panglima Polim areas in South Jakarta, as well as Jalan Lapangan Banteng and Pasar Baru in Central Jakarta. In addition, the disruption was also felt in the Tanjung Priok area in North Jakarta, up to the area on Jalan Gatot Subroto, including the office of the Ministry of Investment/Coordinating Agency for Capital Investment (BKPM).
