Power Outage Hits Jakarta on Thursday Afternoon: PLN's Explanation
PT PLN (Persero) has reported a disruption in the power supply that impacted several areas in Jakarta on Thursday (23/4/2026) afternoon. Currently, the company is focusing on efforts to normalise the electricity system. Senior Manager of Communication and Public Relations for PLN UID Jakarta Raya, Haris Andika, stated that the public can obtain the latest information regarding the electricity service conditions through the PLN Mobile application or PLN Contact Center 123. “A power supply disruption occurred, affecting several areas in Jakarta. PLN is focusing on normalisation efforts. Updates on electricity service conditions can be provided through the PLN Mobile application and PLN Contact Center 123,” he explained in a written statement on Thursday (23/4/2026). For information, the power outage was felt in several points in Jakarta, including the Mampang area, Panglima Polim, and Jl. Gatot Subroto in South Jakarta, as well as Jalan Lapangan Banteng and Pasar Baru in Central Jakarta. Additionally, the disruption was also felt in the Tanjung Priok area in North Jakarta. The power outage occurred around 10:30 WIB on Thursday (23/4/2026). This power supply disruption also affected traffic lights on several main roads and telecommunications networks.
