Power Disruption Affects KRL Service between Citayam and Bojonggede
Depok – KRL Commuter Line services on the Jakarta Kota–Bogor route experienced operational disruption on Wednesday, 11 March 2026, in the afternoon due to problems with the overhead electrical line (OEL) on the track between Citayam and Bojonggede stations.
The disruption forced train operations on this section to utilise a single track operating on an alternating basis.
KAI Commuter’s Vice President of Corporate Secretary, Karina Amanda, stated that despite the disruption, train services could continue with specific operational adjustments.
“For the time being, trains can continue to use the Bojonggede-Citayam section on a single track operating alternately,” Karina said when confirmed by Kompas.com on Wednesday evening.
Until Wednesday evening, personnel continued recovery work at the location to restore normal operational conditions.
KAI Commuter also advised passengers to regularly monitor travel information through the application and official information channels available.
“Updates on Commuterline services affected by the disruption are being provided through all KAI Commuter social media channels and the C-Access application as well as information at stations,” Karina explained.
KAI Commuter also issued an apology to service users for the travel disruption, particularly as it occurred approaching the time for breaking the fast during Ramadan.
One passenger, Prastika (22), reported that the train journey she was on was held up for a considerable time at Pasar Minggu station.
The journey to Pancasila University station, which normally takes only approximately 15 minutes, took considerably longer that afternoon.
Meanwhile, this operational disruption also attracted significant discussion on social media, including posts on the Instagram account @dramakrlcommuterline.
In circulating video footage, numerous passengers can be seen walking between the railway tracks. Several other passengers appeared to be evacuated by personnel from within the train sets, whilst some passengers chose to exit the train independently.
