Poultry Farmers Urge Government Intervention to Stabilise Chicken Prices Amid Demand Slump

The Managing Director of PT Janu Putra Sejahtera Tbk (AYAM), Sri Mulyani, has emphasised the crucial role of the government in stabilising chicken and egg prices from the farm level to the market. Amid the current price slump, she noted that the main issue is not supply, which can be managed through the livebird cycle, but rather demand uncertainty. To prevent oversupply and protect against losses, farmers are being urged to expand their market reach and invest in additional storage facilities, although this requires substantial investment.
