Potential for Different Eid Celebrations, Check the Live Streaming Link for the Isbat Session Results for 1 Syawal 1447 H Tonight!
The Ministry of Religious Affairs (Kemenag) of the Republic of Indonesia is conducting the Isbat Session to establish 1 Syawal 1447 Hijriah or Eid al-Fitr 2026 today, Thursday (19/3). This session, taking place at the Auditorium HM Rasjidi in Jakarta, will determine whether Muslims in Indonesia will celebrate Eid on Friday, 20 March or Saturday, 21 March 2026. The process of determining the start of Syawal involves three main stages that can be monitored by the public at large: Society can monitor the session results in real-time through the official link provided below: Based on data from the Kemenag Hisab Rukyat Team, the position of the hilal across all regions of Indonesia on Thursday afternoon was observed at heights between 0° 54’ and 3° 7’ with elongation angles of 4° 32’ to 6° 6’. These figures indicate that the hilal’s position is still below or very close to the MABIMS (Ministers of Religious Affairs of Brunei Darussalam, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Singapore) visibility criteria. If during the observation (rukyat) at 120 points across Indonesia the hilal is not visible, then the month of Ramadan will be completed (istikmal) to 30 days. This would mean that the government is likely to set 1 Syawal 1447 H on Saturday, 21 March 2026. Meanwhile, PP Muhammadiyah has determined that Eid al-Fitr falls on Friday, 20 March 2026 based on the Hakiki Hilal Existence Calculation method. The public is urged to maintain Islamic brotherhood amid this potential difference and to await the official results that will be announced directly by the government tonight.
