The Chair of the Posyandu Steering Committee (TP Posyandu), Tri Tito Karnavian, has emphasised that Posyandu is no longer solely focused on health services. The community health posts are now becoming centres for public services at the village/sub-district level through the implementation of six Minimum Service Standards (SPM) sectors. This was conveyed by Tri during the opening of a socialisation event for the Implementation of the Six SPM Posyandu in 2026 at the Governor’s official residence hall in East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) on Wednesday (24/6/2026). According to Tri, this transformation follows up on Minister of Home Affairs Regulation (Permendagri) Number 13 of 2024, which expands the function of Posyandu into six SPM sectors: health, education, social affairs, public housing, public works, and public order and community protection (Trantibumlinmas). She explained that Posyandu has long been known primarily as a health service post because it is widely utilised by community health centres (puskesmas). In reality, Posyandu is a village community institution that can serve as a means to bring various basic services closer to the public. “Posyandu belongs to the village; it is a village community institution that should serve all forms of services that need to be provided to the community,” Tri said in a written statement on Thursday (25/6/2026). According to Tri, the six-sector SPM Posyandu can become a community service centre at the village level, directly connecting various government programmes with residents’ needs. Through this approach, programmes such as stunting reduction, improving education quality, sanitation improvements, social assistance, and housing initiatives are expected to reach the public more quickly and accurately. Tri added that Posyandu cadres also play a crucial role in supporting the collection of beneficiary data by name and address to make government programme implementation more effective. Therefore, TP Posyandu is encouraging the acceleration of Posyandu registration in all villages and strengthening socialisation to regional governments and cadres to speed up the implementation of the six-sector SPM Posyandu. “We have planned to start online socialisation from 1 July 2026. So, once a month we will hold online socialisation to reach a wider audience across various regional levels throughout Indonesia,” Tri concluded.
