Posyandu Services in Jakarta Hindered by Budget Constraints and Minimal Facilities
Facilities at Pos Pelayanan Terpadu (Posyandu) in Jakarta are still considered minimal due to budget constraints that have not been well integrated across each regional apparatus.
DPRD Jakarta member from the PKS faction, Nabilah Aboebakar Alhabsyi, stated that the basic needs of Posyandu are often not accommodated in planning, particularly in the Musyawarah Perencanaan Pembangunan (Musrenbang).
“In the field, these needs are instead tossed around between the Health Department, Puskesmas, and sub-districts,” said Nabilah in a written statement received by Kompas.com on Friday (10/4/2026).
These needs include tables, chairs, medical equipment, and infant scales that are typically used.
This condition occurs due to the lack of budget integration between regional apparatus organisations (OPD), so the basic needs of Posyandu do not become a priority.
She assessed that this could potentially weaken the role of Posyandu as a basic health service for mothers and children at the community level.
“Don’t let the cadre mothers, who have a significant role in maintaining public health, become demotivated due to lack of adequate facilities. This could weaken our basic service system,” she said.
She also emphasised the importance of cross-sector coordination, especially between the Health Department and other regional apparatus, to ensure there is no overlap or gap in responsibilities.
“Going forward, this must be a joint concern. Integration between departments must be strengthened so that basic community needs like Posyandu are no longer neglected,” she stated.
Improving the budgeting system and coordination is said to be the key to strengthening community-based health services in Jakarta.
