Posyandu Chairman Urges Preparation for Golden Generation While Distributing Aid in Temporary Housing
Chairman of the Supervisory Team (TP) for the Integrated Service Post (Posyandu) and Chairman of the Family Empowerment and Welfare Movement Team (TP PKK), Tri Tito Karnavian, distributed social assistance to residents living in temporary housing (huntara) in Ulee Rubek Timur Village, Langkahan Subdistrict, North Aceh Regency, on Wednesday (29/4).
This visit is part of TP Posyandu’s efforts to reach the community directly, including those affected by flooding. Tri emphasised that Posyandu services do not have to be confined to buildings but can be present wherever the community needs them.
During the aid distribution, he conveyed a message about the importance of preparing the younger generation from an early stage. He linked this to Indonesia’s demographic bonus projection, which will peak in 2045.
“We are also given intellect to think about their fate. We always hear about the Golden Indonesia in 2045, which is just 19 years away; in 2045, it is estimated that Indonesia’s working-age population will be the largest,” he stated in a written remark on Friday (1/5).
In that year, the number of Indonesia’s productive-age population is projected to be the largest in history. Therefore, Tri encouraged every family to play an active role in preparing their children to be ready to compete.
He also reminded the public not to misinterpret the view of ‘many children, many blessings’. Decisions to have children should be accompanied by careful planning, adjusted to the family’s economic capacity, so that every child can grow up decently.
“So, I ask mothers and fathers who want to have children to pay attention to their welfare,” he added.
Every family is expected to consider their economic capacity and health conditions before deciding to add family members. This is important to ensure that every child has access to education and a decent and quality growing environment without financial barriers.
Tri also asked the public to be wiser in understanding traditional views on the number of children in the family. According to him, the main focus now is to ensure that every child born can live with good welfare standards and a guaranteed future.
“We must plan; they must live decently, be able to compete, and improve their lives in a more decent and better way,” he continued.
Besides focusing on human resource development, the Posyandu Chairman also invited residents to strengthen food resilience independently. He suggested utilising yard land around the huntara to plant various productive crops such as chillies, tomatoes, and vegetables.
This practical step is considered able to help the community significantly reduce daily kitchen shopping costs. Tri hopes for guidance from field extension workers so that residents can farm with correct and effective techniques.
“I hope there will be mentors, extension workers who can also help how to plant secondary crops well. At least, it reduces kitchen expenses because buying chillies is routine,” he concluded.
For information, in the event, TP Posyandu distributed various aid packages: 117 basic food packages, 117 worship equipment packages, 117 kitchen and dining equipment packages, 70 school supply packages, 2,618 pieces of clothing, and 100 children’s snack packages directly to the affected residents.
The event was also attended by Aceh Province Posyandu TP Chairman Marlina Muzakir, Deputy Chairman of Aceh Province Posyandu TP Mukarramah Fadhlullah, North Aceh Regency Posyandu TP Chairman Musliana Ismail, Ulee Rubek Timur Keuchik Azhari, as well as officials from the Central Posyandu TP and Central TP PKK.
