Postman killed protecting package

BANJARMASIN, South Kalimantan: A mailman in South Kalimantan was shot dead trying to protect a parcel of Rp 10 million from a gang of thieves, Antara reported.

The news agency said recently that 33-year-old Supiani was driving to Pelaihari with a package of money addressed to a group of settlers when he was shot.

He continued driving until he found a food stall, where he stopped and asked that the money be safeguarded. He then fainted.

He died in Haji Buyasin hospital in Pelaihari.
