Following the Lebaran holiday, return passenger traffic has been crowding Syamsudin Noor Airport in Banjarbaru and Trisakti Port in Banjarmasin over the past three days.

At Syamsudin Noor Airport, the return flow began on Tuesday (24/3) with passenger movements for arrivals and departures reaching 12,800 people. “The surge in return traffic started last Tuesday with 12,800 passengers. Or an average of over 10,000 passengers in the last three days. So far, it has proceeded smoothly without significant obstacles,” stated the General Manager of Syamsudin Noor International Airport, Stephanus Millyas Wardana.

On Friday (27/3), the return flow is estimated at 10,566 passengers with 89 flights to various destinations. The most frequent flights are on the Jakarta and Surabaya routes. This return traffic is expected to continue until Sunday (30/3).

The number of passengers using air routes during the Eid departure and return period has increased by 6.1 percent compared to the previous year. During this Eid departure and return flow, Syamsudin Noor Airport provides five extra flights every day.

Further explained by Stephanus, the Integrated Eid Alert Post will be closed on 31 March 2026. “After being implemented from 13 March, we will continue this post until 30 March,” he said.

Meanwhile, return passenger traffic is also crowding Trisakti Port in Banjarmasin since Wednesday (25/3), marked by the arrival of 1,009 passengers on KM Dharma Rucitra I from Surabaya Port, East Java. The Class I Banjarmasin Harbourmaster and Port Authority Office (KSOP) estimates that this sea return passenger flow will continue until early April 2026. (H-2)
