Secretary General of the Regional Representative Council (DPD) of the Republic of Indonesia, Mohammad Iqbal, led the first morning assembly after the long Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijriah holiday within the DPD General Secretariat environment.

In front of 1,464 employees, the DPD RI Secretary General emphasised the importance of mental and physical readiness to face the dense legislative challenges in the remaining session period this year.

“This morning assembly is more than just a physical ceremony. It is a check on the readiness of 1,464 human resources under my responsibility. We must ensure the organisation is prepared to carry out its duties before entering the upcoming recess,” said Iqbal while leading the Morning Assembly at the DPD RI Parking Field in the Parliamentary Complex, Jakarta, on Monday (30/3).

In his directions, the DPD RI Secretary General conveyed three main instructional points to all ranks. First, accelerating performance in Session IV considering the short time before entering the recess period.

He stressed that there must be no delays in the core agenda of DPD RI, whether in legislative functions, oversight, or consideration.

“There is no room for slowness or mistakes. Everything must be on time, in accordance with regulations, on target, while still prioritising budget efficiency and transparency,” he asserted.

Second, he continued, strengthening solidarity and eliminating sectoral egos across all work units both at the centre and in the regions to work in unison. He also emphasised that weakness in one unit would impact the entire system.

Finally, he advised adaptation to global geopolitical and technological dynamics. In addition, he reminded of the possibility of policy adjustments such as budget efficiency up to work-from-home (WFH) schemes.

“It is important for us to strengthen IT systems and database security for the results of DPD RI’s work as anticipation for the future,” he hoped.
