Post-Disaster Recovery in Bireuen Accelerated
The distribution of logistical aid for residents affected by the disaster in Bireuen Regency, Aceh, is continuing to support the fulfilment of basic needs while accelerating the post-disaster recovery process. A total of 1,000 social aid packages were distributed by the Indonesian National Police (Polri) to the affected communities. The aid was handed over by the Aceh Police Chief, Inspector General Ruddi Setiawan, to residents at several affected locations on Wednesday (22/7). Through his official account, the Head of the Public Relations Division of the National Police stated that the distribution of aid was a form of support for accelerating post-disaster recovery while strengthening coordination with the local government. “This handover of aid is a tangible manifestation of Polri’s presence in the community, while strengthening collaboration with the local government in accelerating post-disaster recovery,” wrote the Head of the Public Relations Division. He added that the institution will continue to provide services to the community through various humanitarian activities in the affected areas. “With a spirit of togetherness, Polri remains committed to providing humanist services and bringing benefits to communities in need,” he continued. The distribution of logistical aid is expected to help meet the basic needs of residents while easing the burden on communities affected by the disaster. The distribution was also carried out in coordination with the local government and local officials to ensure that post-disaster handling proceeds more effectively.
