Poso local nabbed for carrying gun

PALU, Central Sulawesi: The Central Sulawesi Police chief said on Friday that a resident of Poso regency had been arrested in conflict-torn Mamasa regency, West Sulawesi.

Brig. Gen. Aryanto Sutadi said the resident was nabbed a few days ago for possession of arms.

The Poso resident, whose identity was not released, is being detained on suspicions of seeking to provoke unrest in Mamasa.

Three people have been killed since a sectarian clash broke out last week in Mamasa. -- JP
