Poso bombers still at large

PALU, Central Sulawesi: Five days after a bombing outside two non-governmental organization offices in Poso, police say they are still in the dark as to who the perpetrators are.

"Until today, we haven't been able to arrest those responsible," Central Sulawesi police chief Brig. Gen. Aryanto Sutadi said.

The bomb exploded outside the offices of the Center of Peace and Conflict Resolution and the Institute of the Civil Society Empowerment in Poso last Wednesday. There were no casualties.

Police suspected the bombs were related to the activities of the two organizations, which recently reported to police an alleged misappropriation of funds meant for Poso refugees amounting to Rp 2.1 billion (US$221,052). -- JP
